LaDuca Shoes founder Phil LaDuca is loved by famous feet all over the world for creating dancing shoes that are made “by the dancer, for the dancer”. A professional dancer and choreographer, Phil knew what it’s like to have unsympathetic dancing shoes, and set out to solve the problem with these Italian-made beauties which are kind to the feet. Now, stars such as Kate Winslet and Meryl Streep sing his praises, and Phil creates custom footwear for Broadway shows, TV, movies and concert tours all over the world.
Phil shipped one of his shoes to Australia and asked us to replicate it on a handcrafted sign for his shop in downtown New York. Danthonia artisans painstakingly recreated the Italian-leather shoe with SignFoam and paint, down to the delicate buckle which we carved and gilded with 23kt gold. We even included the label on the sole. This sign is truly a sign made “by the craftsmen, for the craftsman”.
