Holy Spirit College Cairns and Cooktown signs
“Education cannot be neutral. It is either positive or negative; either it enriches or it impoverishes; either it enables a person to grow or it lessens, even corrupts him. The mission of schools is to develop a sense of truth, of what is good and beautiful.” Pope Francis, 2014
The new Holy Spirit College with campuses in both Cairns and Cooktown was commissioned to bring a positive education like the one described by the Pope to disengaged youths in these towns. The college will cater to teenagers who don’t fit into mainstream education. The classrooms will be centres of flexible learning. The schools will work closely with local Aboriginal communities and there will be no fees charged.
Prior to its opening, the new college principal was looking online for signage options when she received our brochure in the post, and looked no further. We created these signs blending the colours of white, black and ochre with the angular architecture of the new buildings. The signage is lovingly crafted in 3-dimensional forms in our NSW factory, adding depth and warmth to the design.
