Southport State School

Wayfinding and LED Signage

Southport State School needed clear and functional wayfinding signage to direct visitors through their campus. They were also looking for an electronic sign with a splash of originality.  Danthonia designed, fabricated, and installed colourful signs of all shapes and sizes, bringing the school to life by guiding visitors, informing staff and students, and brightening up the gardens and walls around campus.

All sign types, from wayfinding plinths and totems to block signs and the LED entry sign, are designed and fabricated with the same design elements that create an atmosphere of consistency and care across the school grounds.

The LED entry sign includes a P16-resolution full-colour display, enabling coloured text and backgrounds, as well as simple graphics. Our flexible sign construction methods and materials enable the unique shape to be rendered with a tough, hammer-proof finish.

The creative value totems are a visual reminder of the School’s commitment to encouraging student personal growth. The fabricated aluminium plinths mirror the design of the School’s large LED sign and showcase exquisite indigenous artwork inspired by the sea turtle, celebrating the School’s indigenous culture.

‘The new Danthonia sign has added a professional touch. It has raised the ‘first impressions’ profile of our school which meets our high expectations of school culture and values.’
